Steps for Contactless Clearance

WHAT ARE THE STEPS IN THE CONTACTLESS CLEARANCE PROCESS?

  1. Submission of Advance Cargo reporting to include de-grouped manifest prior to arrival of vessel via the Port Community System (PCS) to the Jamaica Customs Agency.

  2.  Agents are required to create the simplified IMS4 declaration. In Box 7 -Commercial Reference field of the eSAD, enter the prefix CCP followed by your unique internal reference number (eg.CCP000123 or CCP-AB00123).

  3. In Box 30 – Location of Goods, the Declarant will be mandated to select the applicable code indicating where the goods are located from the list of locations (e.g. KWC01 – Kingston Warehouse Complex).

  4. Agent submits and pays the Customs charges for the declarations.

  5. Container is offloaded and cargo scanned.

  6. JCA provides the warehouse operators with the list of consignments to be presented for inspection.

  7. Customs officer inspects the cargo without the agent being present.

    N.B. - Cargo handling assistance will be provided by the warehouse operator during inspection.

  8. Customs Officer completes Inspection Act/Report and generates Customs Release.

  9. Agent is notified via AYSCUDA/PCS that the cargo has been inspected and released by Customs.

  10.  Agents proceed to the Warehouse Operators to retrieve the cargo and gate pass.
